Hot, Hot, Hot: Carolina Reaper is the World's Hottest Pepper
13:19
NEWS
The world's hottest pepper has been chosen and it is South Carolina's "Carolina Reaper," a waxy red capsicum the size of a golf ball.
The Guinness Book of World Records said farmer Ed Currie's pepper is the fieriest in the world, measuring an average of 1,569,300 Scoville Units.
In comparison, a jalapeno meaures about 5,000 to 8,000 Scoville Units. Zero is bland porridge.
It's even 200,000 units hotter than pepper spray's measure, meaning that you could probably used the peppers as grenades in warfare.

Ssaudi Arabia: Saudi prince to be executed
13:27
NEWS
A Saudi prince convicted of murder faces execution after the victim’s father refused to pardon him, local media have reported.
Crown Prince Salman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence, reportedly said the prince would not be given special treatment despite his royal position.
“Shariah [law] shall be applied to all without exception,” he wrote in a message to Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif, Arab News reported.
“There is no difference between big and small, rich and poor. The powerful are weak before God’s law until others get their rights from them while the weak are powerful until their rights are protected.
Nobody is allowed to interfere with the judiciary’s decision. This is the tradition of this state. We are committed to following the Shariah.”
The victim was a Saudi citizen and King Abdullah reportedly issued a royal decree stating that capital punishment would be enforced if the reconciliation process between the prince and the victim’s family failed.
The victim’s father issued a statement saying he was not ready to pardon the prince and claimed the reconciliation committee was not fair to him.
He also was not satisfied with the amount of blood money – offered by killers as a means to avoid the death penalty - offered.
Executions are common in the strict Muslim society, with beheading the most common method.
There have been 72 official executions in the kingdom so far this year, according to AFP.

In Egypt, Posting This Symbol On Facebook Can Now Get You 5 Years In Prison
02:04
NEWS
Authorities in Egypt have declared they will sentence anyone who posts this symbol on their Facebook page to five years in prison, according to Arabcrunch and Shorouk News.
Egyptian athletes expected to compete in the Olympics are also banned from flashing the four-fingered symbol, according to the country's sports minister.
The "Rabia" or "R4bia" symbol is a reference to the deaths of Muslim protestors in Rabia al-Adawiya Square. It is a symbol of support for the now-outlawed Muslim Brotherhood. Rabia means four or fourth in Arabic, and it sounds the same as the name of the mosque that became the center of pro-Muslim protests in 2012.
Following the revolution that deposed former dictator Hosni Mubarak in 2011, the Muslim Brotherhood won a national election in 2012. However, incoming president Mohamed Morsi abrogated so much power to himself that the Egyptian military staged a coup in the summer of 2013. Since then, the Muslim Brotherhood has been banned in the country even though it won the last democratic vote there.
According to a Google translated versions of Sharouk News, Egyptian police recently posted a warning on Facebook that anyone who posts the R4bia sign will be regarded as a terrorist who supports the Brotherhood, and could be subjected to five years in prison.

Drone attacks blessing of God: N league leader
07:29
NEWS
RAWALPINDI - Terming the US drone attacks on tribal belt as blessing of God, former MPA of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Zia Ullah Shah, has said that North Waziristan Agency (NWA) has become a safe haven for the foreigners who have waged war against the state and the US is doing the right thing by killing them in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) strikes.
The former provincial lawamker said no civilian was being killed in US drone strikes in tribal areas rather the militants have been meeting their logical end.
“It is our good luck that Pakistan and America have the same enemy, the Taliban. We as a nation should realise the ground realities and support drone attacks at a time when a country like USA not only giving us aid but also combating the terrorists hiding in tribal areas by firing missiles through UAVs,” the PML-N leader added.
Zia Ullah Shah expressed these views while responding to queries of the media men at the concluding session of a two-day workshop, organised by United Press International (UPI) at a local hotel in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The PML-N MPA, who remained in power from 2008 to 2013 from PP-11 but faced defeat at the hands of PTI candidate Raja Rashid Hafiz in May 11 general elections, maintained that a large number of Uzbek and Chechen terrorists have been hiding in NWA and involved in anti-state activities, destabilising the country.
The former legislator said the security forces were not capable of eliminating the terrorist groups; therefore, the US drone attacks were the only option to get rid of these enemies of the state.
PTI’s protest to block NATO supply was baseless, the MPA said while replying to a question. He said the terrorism weakened the country and the federal government is trying its level best to steer the country out of the crises.
Condemning sectarian violence in Raja Bazaar of Rawalpindi on November 15, the former MPA said that the third hand was involved in the killing of students at the seminary instead of Shias.
“There is no conflict between Shias and Sunnis of the city. Rather miscreants are fanning the sectarianism,” Zia Ullah Shah said.

''Kia Pakhtun hona aik Jurm hai'' ? By Saleem Safi
Pakistan is a country, but with the destiny of its people is not the same. If you are a Pakhtun then you are supposed to be a terrorist in every part of the country. But on the other hand this standard is changed for other people of the country. The Generals and Pak govt made and developed Talban to fight their war and they were called mujahideen. Suddenly the Generals took a u-turn and called the Talban as terrorists. While the same group of Talban in Afghanistan are considered as mujahideen. This is a double standard policy of the army establishment and all this destructing pakhtun nation. said by Saleem Safi.

How parliamentarians possess millions of assets when they don't have a business in Pakistan?
04:06
VIDEOS
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The latest statement of assets and liabilities of parliamentarians for the year 2012-13 released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has made shocking revelations.
According to the details released on ECP’s website, most of the politicians own millions of assets but surprisingly, they don’t run any business.
Interestingly, the parliamentarians have also invested millions of rupees in stock exchange. Some of the parliamentarians also stated in their forms that they have provided loans of millions to their children to start business ventures. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said he had made a loan of Rs 400 million to his children while National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq loaned Rs 2 million to his son.
The ECP statement also refuted the perception that feudalism was getting weaker in Pakistan. Senator Israr Zehri revealed that he possessed 52,000 acres of agricultural land in several districts of Balochistan.
One of the senators considered to be richest, Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan, who also had a land dispute worth 30 million pounds in London, stated that he doesn’t own property abroad. Waqar Ahmed also wrote he doesn’t have any business though he had Rs 18.06 million in bank accounts.
Federal Minister Sikander Bosan said he owned 100 tolas of gold worth Rs 0.6 million only while MNA Aijaz Chaudhry stated he possessed 20 tolas of gold worth Rs 1 million.
The most interesting fact was that most of the parliamentarians and senators didn’t reveal the kind of businesses they were running in Pakistan. Thus, leaving the section blank.
Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik has also left the business section blank, stating that he doesn’t have a business in Pakistan or London but mentioned the address of a flat in London that he owned. He showed a net value of assets worth Rs 330 million.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Farhatullah Babar, Ishaq Dar and Mushahid Hussain are also among those politicians who left the business section blank.
