Maj Nidal Hasan says he was the gunman/Shooter Ft. Hood Trial

The former US Army psychiatrist who killed 13 soldiers at a base in Texas in 2009 has admitted in court he was the gunman and apologized for "any mistakes", as his court martial opened. 
''The 42-year-old says he was protecting Muslims and the Taliban in Afghanistan.''
Forty-two-year-old Major Nidal Hasan, said that the evidence to be presented by the prosecution story is just a side show.
Prosecutors in the trial of Major Nidal Hasan, said in a statement that Maj Hasan had a plan to kill unarmed soldiers. 
 If convicted on 13 counts of murder and 32 counts of attempted murder, the US-born Muslim could face execution.
